RYT 200 and RYT 500 Yoga Training
RYT 500 Training in Therapeutic Yoga for existing 200 hour teachers. Join us for a ONE-TIME opportunity to become a registered Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists before they raise their requirements to 1000 hours of training. IAYT will grandfather in 500 hour teachers trained in yoga therapy IF their training begins before December 31, 2013.
Study with Catherine Deans and internationally respected guest teachers: Chase Bossart, long-time student of TKV Desikachar, and JJ Gormley, whose teachers include Kausthub Desikachar, Patricia Walden, John Schumacher and Rodney Yee. Learn anatomy, course planning, asana technique and theory, adapting for special populations, pranayama, meditation, the bandhas, yogic philosophy and ethics, the history of yoga, ayurveda, the business of yoga (including legal and marketing issues). Perfect if you want to deepen your teaching technique or feel comfortable teaching special populations. An additional 150 hours of independent study are required by IAYT for candidates interested in Certified Yoga Therapist listing. Classes will be held one weekend per month at Halfmoon Yoga's Tallahassee studio – Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 – 5PM - except in December (no school). We will start classes October 5, 2013 and run through June 7, 2015. The cost is $3060 plus $200 non-refundable book deposit. There is an additional $750 fee for students interested in completing IAYT's requirements for Certified Yoga Therapist designation. RYT 200 Yoga Training – perfect if you want to deepen your practice, join Yoga Alliance as a registered teacher, or continue to hone your teaching skills. 200 hours of training over 11 months/one weekend a month. Learn asana theory and technique, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, course planning, yoga history and philosophy, working with special populations, the business of yoga and more. Ongoing mentoring and support – through your training and afterward. Next class starts March, 2014 in Tallahassee.
